Low tech is still an option

Ever had a great idea when you were in the middle of something? Heard something important that you wanted to remember for later? Maybe you remember an important task you need to complete the next day just before you drift off to sleep?
Although mobile technology provides some great tools to capture notes, ideas, thoughts and other important information, it is not always the best for use on the run. Often great ideas may strike you in a situation where pulling out the tablet or cell phone may be considered rude, or trying to the find the app on your phone then typing on the tiny keyboard takes too long.

A small pocket-sized notebook and a pen or pencil is a great solution. Small notebooks can be easily carried throughout the day. And, they are inexpensive.
Why a pocket-sized notebook? First, it can be easily stowed away in pocket or purse quickly, reducing the chance you will leave it laying around or forget it. Second, it’s easy to file away when you fill up the pages. Throw it in a desk drawer or in your laptop case for later reference. Third, it is a lot quicker to flip through a few pages than trying to search through your cell phone app.  

Some tips on using a small notebook when high-tech, technology is not the answer:
* Keep it near the bed at night when you go to sleep. Sometimes the best ideas, or you remember something just before you drift off to sleep. 
* You can jot down notes during a meeting. Refer to previous notes easily by flipping a few pages. 
* Writing something down helps you remember it. You may not even have to refer back to your notebook.
​* Don’t worry about being messy when jot something down quickly. You can even draw diagrams, or doodles that will reinforce your memories. 

​Using a small notebook that you carry in your purse or pocket is a great way to keep up with important tasks, remember ideas for later development, and even jot down a quick grocery list. Who wants to wake up without coffee in the morning!!!
